Airtel to Block UTL Calls over 8 Billion Debt


Now starting Friday this week, Airtel and Uganda Telecom customers will not be able to make calls to each other. This follows failure by Uganda Telecom to pay their outstanding interconnection agreement debt to Airtel, amounting to 8 billion shillings. The money has accumulated since 2013, forcing Airtel to issue an ultimatum aimed at blocking calls to UTL as well as receiving from UTL. Nelson Babyale reports
