UPDF Marines Take Charge Uganda Water Bodies
After failing to eliminate illegal fishing with the use of civilians and Marine Police, the UPDF Marines have officially taken charge of all Uganda’s water bodies. The soldiers are now leading the fight against illegal fishing and corruption among civilians in the industry that has reached alarming levels. The move is aimed at ensuring maximum fish productivity for both domestic and export market. Our reporter was on hand as the army launched its operation in which they netted eight people.
