Graduates Appreciate Vocational Skills

The directorate of industrial training working with Kiira Motors Corporation have awarded certificates to eight of the company employees who have been training for the last two and half months. Mario Obua a holder a masters degree in Engineering Management from Kettering University in the USA and a bachelors degree in Mechanical engineering from Makerere is one of those who enrolled for the programme. Asked why he chose to enroll for the prgramme ,even with his high level qualifications, Obua says at the university students get all the science Material but application becomes a problem in the field. He says what is taught at the vocational institutes’ helps one to focus and put what is taught into practice. George William Ssenfuka is a senior instructor at the directorate of industrial training, who says handling the highly educated students is challenging given the general belief Ugandans have towards vocational education.
