Makerere Don Family Controversy

A family home at the centre of controversy in Mbale where a Makerere University don Dr. Tabitha Ndegemu Muly Mampiti is said to have evicted her aging father Mzee Jackson Muly Mampiti has now been razed down. The Mzee has now taken shelter on the verandah of a neighbouring house pending his petition at the high court where he is challenging his eviction. On Tuesday, Mzee Mulymampiti’s hope of ever returning to the home he has lived for more than three decades faded as men under the directive of the daughter started pulling down this structure in which his eight wives and dozens of children have lived for years. The mzee watched in shock from the verander of the shelter as men destroyed all that he has lived for. Clansmen watched in shock when they visited the site.
