The Uganda Prisons Spokesperson Frank Baine has revealed that 800 prisoners have been pardoned as more than 1000 people have been sent to jail for violating the presidential directives. He said this during the security brief on the weekend lockdown operations.

The Spokesperson of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Jacob Siminyu, also disclosed that there are some Ugandans who had sneaked out of the country to the Democratic Republic of Congo for burial.

He said that these were arrested, detained for a month in Congo, and handed over to Uganda on Sunday. He added that they are now serving the mandatory quarantine.
