Kyagulanyi Election Petition Filed

The National Unity Platform (NUP) legal team led by Hon. Sseggona Medard has petitioned the Supreme Court to challenge the election of President Yoweri Museveni in the recent polls for his fifth term.

The Alliance for National Transformation (ANT) led by Gen. Mugisha Muntu who was also a candidate in the presidential race has pledged to support the National Unity Platform in challenging the 2021 presidential election results at the Supreme Court. The party challenged the judiciary to award the case the dignity it deserves.

Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu who was the NUP presidential candidate in the race was put under house arrest immediately after he cast his votes until the courts declared his continued detention illegal on Jan 25, 2021, and ordered the security to free him.
