A motion urging government to address challenges facing the girl child and children in general in the digital era has been adopted by Parliament. The mover of the motion was Sarah Opendi who said the pandemic has proved that children are safer in schools evidently as a result of the rampant early marriages and teenage pregnancies when children are home.

The Parliamentarians urged parents not to leave the boy child behind as they aim at empowering the girl child. They also urged the parents to be hands on parents, they say poor parenting is leading to the teenage pregnancies we see in the lockdown.
