UMA President Dr. Oledo Steps Aside


The President of the Uganda Medical Association (UMA), Dr. Samuel Oledo, has stepped aside to allow independent investigations, according to Dr. Luswata Herbert, Secretary General UMA

In that meeting, we made resolutions, and one of them was to set up a committee which is supposed to make an inquiry into the happenings where the president was involved.

We also resolved that the UMA president (Dr. Oledo) steps aside to allow the committee to carry out independent investigations. The vice president is supposed to be in charge as the investigations are ongoing.” Dr. Luswata Herbert



On Saturday, the 3rd of December 2022, Dr. Oledo led a group of medical students, pre-interns and a few interns donning clinical coats to a national youth event at Kololo independence grounds where he asked President Museveni to contest again.

An online opinion poll generated by Dr. Gladys Atto and Dr. Ronald Kazibwe saw 86.4% of the respondents voted for the censorship of the current President while 13.6% were in his favour.
