Uganda Airlines Facilitates Historic Hajj Journey

The Minister of Works and Transport Katumba Wamala and Third Deputy Prime Minister Rukia Nakadama have this morning flagged off a group of 250 pilgrims to Mecca.

                                 

The group, en route to Saudi Arabia, flew aboard Uganda Airlines for the first time after 40 years.

                                 

“This is a landmark, and the Muslim community will be happy that they will be able to make the pilgrim to Mecca using the national carrier”. Gen. Katumba Wamala

Rt. Hon. Rukia Nakadama requested the pilgrims to also pray for our country and President and encouraged those who have the capacity to go to Mecca to do so when the time comes.

“I want to thank the Ministry of Works for giving us Uganda Airlines to take our first batch of pilgrims to Mecca. I want to thank all those who have supported us as Uganda in promoting Uganda Airlines”. Rt. Hon. Rukia Nakadama

                               

The second batch of pilgrims (250) will travel tomorrow morning, making a today of 500.
