Victims of Kasese Attack Buried

24 bodies of the 25 that were able to be recognized after the ADF attack at Mpondwe Lhubiriha Secondary School have been handed over to their family members for burial. Samples have been picked from 17 others who were burnt beyond recognition and taken to Fort Portal Regional Hospital for DNA. The confirmed number of dead during this attack is 42.

The school that was attacked is currently being protected by security officials, and security at the Uganda – DRC border has been intensified. A number of schools at the border have also been temporarily closed.

“Security has been beefed up. I don’t think ADF can penetrate again. People should have the confidence to go back to their homes. We have also told People to be vigilant and report any movement of people they don’t know”. Minister Godfrey Kabbyanga Baluku
