President Museveni Insists on Digital Vehicle Number Plates

President Yoweri Museveni insists on the implementation of digital vehicle number plates as a critical measure to combat rising crime in the country. He issued this warning during the pass-out ceremony of over 2000 Uganda Prison Service Officers at Kololo Independence grounds.

There has been controversy surrounding digital number plates, with senior Cabinet Ministers General Kahinda Otafiire and Major General Jim Muhwezi clashing in the media. Otafiire denied any knowledge of the digital number plates during his appearance before the Physical Infrastructure Committee of Parliament.
