Belgian football coach Paul Put has been appointed as the new head coach of the Uganda Cranes, the national men’s football team.

Paul Put brings a wealth of coaching experience, having previously managed various African national teams, including Algeria, Guinea, Burkina Faso, Kenya, and most recently, Congo.

The decision to hire Put followed a rigorous selection process, as FUFA President Moses Magogo revealed that 250 applicants had vied for the position but did meet the federation’s standards. However, Put emerged as the top choice, meeting the federation’s criteria and expectations.

Put replaces Milutin Sredojevic, Micho, who parted ways with FUFA in September this year.

Ugandan football fans are eagerly anticipating the impact of this new appointment on the performance and prospects of the Uganda Cranes as they continue their journey in international football.
