UPDF Apologises for Misconduct of Officer

The UPDF have apologized over a situation where a military officer assaulted a traffic police in Kampala. Appearing before plenary, General Elwelu, the Deputy Chief of Defence Forces, and also UPDF representative in Parliament delivered the apology. Elwelu said the incident involving the military grabbing a traffic officer was regrettable.

I sincerely apologize to the police and all Ugandans. It is unacceptable and unforgivable. The soldier has been arrested and is facing court’
