Climate Change Affecting Sun Flower Production

Sunflower farming is fairly new and agricultural researchers are concerned that the rapid change in climate will usher in new diseases to the crop. Farmers are now being encouraged to be on the look-out for signs of diseases on their crops. Researchers at the National Semi – Arid resources Research Institute in Serere district are developing hybrids to improve on the existing Sesun 1H and Sesun 2H varieties under threat.
