Aspiring nurses can now be admitted to nursing schools, even if they left school more than three years before. The rules have been that any nursing student admitted after three years out of school would not be allowed to sit national examinations.
The Uganda Nurses and Midwives Examinations Board has now announced a change to this policy, saying many potential nurses were locked out of the profession because of this restrictive policy.
