President Museveni cautions Police on Suspect Detention and Treatment

Uganda Police has received with caution a second directive from the President on the treatment and detention of suspects. Writing to service chiefs on Sunday, President Yoweri Museveni yet again cautioned against the use of torture methods, gun butting, slapping and barking at suspects. Unfortunately many of the President’s directives have been ignored. But Police spokesperson Emilian Kayima says they are taking the caution seriously.
