Tanzania COVID-19 Lab Head Suspended

The Director of Tanzania’s National Health Laboratory and its quality manager have both been suspended pending an investigation.

The suspension of the top officials comes a day after President John Magufuli questioned the credibility of Coronavirus testing kits being used by the laboratory.

The president called for a look into the laboratory after he suspected that the test results were questionable.

He expressed his doubt on the credibility of laboratory equipment and technicians questioning the official data that had been gathered on the pandemic.
