President Museveni Vows to Crack Whip on Electoral Violence in NRM

The NRM ruling party’s Chairman has spoken tough on #NRMPrimaries electoral violence, saying, “Those who beat People, like in Bukono, are all in jail or on the run. Minister Rukutana is in jail and will be prosecuted. They will be fully accountable with robust charges: assault attempted murder and murder.”

The NRM elections that happened on September 4th, 2020, were marred with violence, intimidation before, during, and after. Many participants vow to come independently, claiming they were cheated of victory. Several are still pleading for a recount or rerun.

Dr. Tanga Odoi, the NRM Electoral Chairperson, is traversing the country to resolve these disputes. He urges the NRM Secretary General Justine Kasule Lumumba to do her part while the police should take care of the post-election violence.
