The Parliamentary Committee on Rules, Privileges and Discipline chaired by Abdu Katuntu on Monday sat in preparation for interfacing with Mityana Municipality MP Francis Zaake Butebi, referred to the committee over allegations of misconduct and misbehaviour.

Zaake is being accused of using demeaning language in response to Deputy Speaker Anita Among on the 8th of February, 2021.

Through a tweet, Zaake wrote, “The loose cannon in her couldn’t contemplate the duty that her office owes members and the country at large, disturbingly she ejaculated while presiding over a session to condemn torture, aah! How hypocritical, Shame upon on you!”

Even though Zaake seems to have deleted the tweet, a section of some Members of Parliament led by Hon. Martin Ojara Mapenduzi have since been pushing a petition to see Zaake relieved of his duties as a Commissioner of Parliament.

The Parliament Committee on Rules, Privilege and Discipline is set to interface with Hon. Ojara Mapenduzi and other legislators accusing Hon. Zaake, as well as Zaake himself. Hon. Zaake will be free to attend all sessions together with his lawyer.
