Plastic Waste Suffocating Soroti City

Soroti City is grappling with the challenge of poor disposal of plastics.

The absence of a proper place to dispose off plastics has led to pollution and its related challenges in different trading centers.

Soroti City Mayor Joshua Edogu says that the authorities are stuck due to the lack of a plastic recycling centre, as the dumping site alone can not accommodate all the waste generated daily.

Soroti is the centre of trade for more than 20 districts comprising Teso sub-region, parts of Bugishu, Bukedi, Lango, and Karamoja.
