UNRA Oversees Roads Maintenance

Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA) is overseeing the maintenance of 762 kilometers of roads in the Moyo, Yumbe, Adjumani, Obongi, and Amuru districts.

UNRA Moyo Station also operates the Obongi and Laropi ferries on the waters of the River Nile. The operations of the Obongi ferry that was grounded two years ago due to the rising water levels on the River Nile have been restored, while two new bridges have been constructed in Moyo and Yumbe districts.

The late disbursement of funds, reduced funds, and lack of road maintenance equipment has been identified as the hurdles hampering the implementation of labor-based and mechanized forced account works under the UNRA Moyo Station.
