Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II opened the 31st Buganda Lukiiko by calling for quicker resolution of land disputes. He highlighted that many people are being displaced from their own land and urged the courts to act promptly. The Kabaka’s arrival at Bulange Mengo was met with joy from his subjects, and he performed traditional rituals before addressing the assembly.

Accompanied by Nabagereka Sylvia Nagginda and Buganda’s royalty, the Kabaka expressed concern about widespread evictions and urged courts to expedite land case resolutions. He also encouraged Baganda to embrace agriculture despite market challenges, and suggested that the government prioritize agriculture in education.

The new ministers thanked the Kabaka for the chance to serve the Kingdom during the event attended by both new and existing Lukiiko members.
