UG Economic Forum 2023 – Day One

Experts convened at the Next Media Park for day one of the 2nd edition of the UG Economic Forum, a platform dedicated to shaping the economic trajectory of Uganda.

During the Forum, the Ugandan Government, through PSST Ramathan Ggoobi, laid out its comprehensive strategy to propel the nation towards full economic recovery following the devasting effects of the #COVID19 pandemic.

Experts agreed on taxation, financing and refinancing for working capital as well as reduction of operational costs to jump-start the economy.

Today (29th August), the #UGEconomicForum will a focus on the agricultural sector, the backbone of Uganda’s economy.

Stakeholders will be discussing how the country can balance the uptake of opportunities in the agricultural sector and white-collar jobs.
