The Busoga Kingdom has come alive in a grand celebration marking the 9th year of the reign of Kyabazinga Gabula Nadiope IV. The festivities, filled with pomp and glamour, saw the king’s arrival at Namungalwe Ssaza grounds in Iganga district, greeted by ululations from his subjects and well-wishers hailing from across the country.

As a symbolic gesture reflecting this year’s theme of “Harnessing the Environment,” Kyabazinga Gabula planted a tree to kick off the celebrations, underlining the importance of environmental conservation.

The occasion was graced with messages of congratulations from various dignitaries, including a message from President Yoweri Museveni, as conveyed by the 1st Deputy Prime Minister, Rebecca Kadaga. Kadaga took the opportunity to address any detractors present.

During his address, the Kyabazinga delivered a vital message to his subjects, urging them to refrain from purchasing land claimed to belong to the Kingdom from unscrupulous individuals. He emphasized the significance of this year’s environmental theme, encouraging his subjects to actively participate in tree planting initiatives within their homes.

Kyabazinga Gabula expressed his appreciation for the support received from both private and government institutions. Notably, the National Drug Authority’s contribution of medical beds and the Presidential Initiative on Banana Industrial Development’s contributions, including a cake served to the attendees, were acknowledged and applauded.
