Yumbe Receives UGX 1.99 Billion Faecal Sludge Treatment Facility

The Ministry of Water and Environment has handed over a UGX 1.99 billion faecal sludge treatment facility in Yumbe district.

This multi-billion faecal sludge treatment facility, the first of its kind in the area, is expected to serve over 150,000 nationals and refugees residing in Yumbe, Ludonga, and Midigo town councils.

Engineer Richard Matua, the Assistant Commissioner in the Ministry of Water and Environment, disclosed that the sludge treatment facility was constructed by the Government of Uganda with funding from the Federal Republic of Germany through KFW.
