According to the Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB), the Busoga Sub region recorded the largest number of 0 scores in the Primary leaving examinations (PLE) over the last 4 years. The UNEB stats indicate that primary schools in 6 of 11 districts on the Busoga region have been failing in PLE.

The uncomfortable situation has forced stake holders to come up with a strategy that they say will revamp education in the region. While at the 2nd Busoga Education Initiative Dinner in Kampala, the Kyabazinga William Gabula Nadiope said that as a Kingdom, he is worried about the quality of education in the region and stated that it is a serious issue that needs urgent attention.

He said he is committed to supporting the outstanding students and has made a call for schools to embrace technology to compete with other regions.
