FDC Chairman Waswa Birigwa has urged party members and allies to fundraise for the 250 million budget required for an extraordinary delegates conference on the 19th of this month. This move comes as the party’s executive, led by President Patrick Amuriat Oboi and Secretary-General Nathan Nandala Mafabi, declined to support the planned conference.

Birigwa disclosed at a press conference held at his Busabala residence that they have gathered two cows and 30 bunches of matooke to cover conference expenses. He and Musumba mentioned the possibility of legal action against Amuriat Oboi and Nandala Mafabi for abuse of office, though this was a last resort.

FDC has invited the Ugandan Electoral Commission, opposition figures, academics, and senior citizens to participate in the event, which aims to bring together over 1,500 delegates from across the country.
