According to National Referal Hospital Accident and Emergency department, over 1,000 cases are registered a month with 40% caused by road accidents.

Many of the victims are never able to make it to a nearby hospital because of lack of guiding policies to aid victims in such predicaments.

Ministry of Health says they have made input such that there is a provision for establishing the good samaritan law.

However, the state of the ambulances that receive the injured victims into hospitals has left many worried because of the poor intensive care units which continue to put their lives at risk.
