It was joy and happiness at the Namugongo Martyrs shrine as twenty couples received their matrimonial sacrament. The Arch Bishop of Kampala, Bishop Cyprian Kizito Lwanga officiated the ceremony cautioning the newly wedded couples to stay away from domestic violence.

He said that the vice of domestic violence threatens the institution of marriage because it hinders peace in a home. He added that it is important that the two parties in the relationship understand each other and communicate effectively pointing out unity as an essential property of marriage.

Dr Cyprian warned the congregation against foreign influence that seeks to destroy the foundations of marriage and family.

“A family has a husband, wife and children. But our generation has lost this essence where some people are advocating for same-sex marriage,” said Dr Cyprian Lwanga.

The Bishop also advised parents to know every aspect of their children so that they can nature them in the way of Christ.
