Slick Stuart and Roja set the bar high at the Mixtape Party Season 8

Uganda’s renowned dynamic deejay duo, Slick Stuart and Roja, set the bar high at their annual Mixtape party ( Season 8) on Thursday night the 3rd of November 2022.

As it’s said, consistency is key; this event follows numerous events since 2013. This time around, happening at Kampala Serena hotel.

The event started with a number of deejays setting the pace, and later on, Slick Stuart and Roja hit the stage with a mind-blowing opening set of EDM music, followed by Uganda EDM blend, Afro beats, reggae, and dancehall. It was a smooth cocktail of Musical experience they gave to the crowd.

Thursday night’s mixtape party was like no other. It featured several Ugandan Deejays; Sir Aludah, Fem Deejay, Naselow, DVJ Mercy Pro and Ssese, among others. It featured several Ugandan artistes, Lilian Mbabazi, Ykee Benda, and Rickman manrick, to mention but a few.  It also featured celebrated Ugandan emcees, Deedan, Mc Kats, Mc Isaac, and Viana Indi, among others.

Unlike the past version of the mixtape parties, this one gave a platform to raising female deejays; the beautiful Etania and the gorgeous Lynda Ddane, who put up a five-star performance. Well, the crowd will never know what hit them.

According to Stuart and Roja, the Mixtape Party Season 8 was about deejays showing love to each other. Revellers got to witness one of the most iconic deejay gestures of our time when Sir Aludah handed over his set to the young deejay; Eyo Markus and Markus didn’t disappoint, doing it justice to the epitome.

The crowd was left in awe when Benon took it to the stage and premiered a remake of the all-star song, Mr. DJ, a song that hit the airwaves 13 years ago featuring the likes of the late Radio, Weasel, GNL Zamba, Navio, Rabadaba, Sizza man and others but this time around featuring the new generation of Ugandan artistes; A Pass, Zex Bilangilagi, Vyper Ranking, Mudra, and B2C to mention but few. Well, you all have to brace yourselves for this mega tune.

Who says it is a party when it has no Amapiano? The Mixtape party season 8, like no other featured, celebrated South African deejay Felo Lee Tee who gave the crowd an electrifying Piano experience.

Fast forward, Kampala people don’t joke when it comes to turning up. The event was glamorous with Kampala bootylicious women all dressed up to assassinate; the set up was lit thanks to the events management team ATS, the ambience was on point thanks to Kampala Serena hotel, and the event was well thought out thanks to sponsors like NBS television, Next Radio, Johnnie Walker among others.
